Your Floating Experience
FloatPods are a zero gravity environment that allows the mind and body to truly rest. Flotation Therapy is a special solution of salinated water utilizing 1,100 pounds of Epsom salts. The buoyancy makes floating on water feel like floating on air. Without any effort you can relieve pain, heal faster, relax, de-stress, improve sleep, and have fun in this amazing chamber. The benefits and the experience are something you will want to try again and again. Many people have some fear or concern before they use the FloatPod the first time. Being alone in the dark, drowning, not having enough air, claustrophobia, and other thoughts pop into people’s minds. In the FloatPod, you are in control. You can go in and out of the FloatPod as you please. You can use the FloatPod with the doocompletely open, you can keep it partially open, or you can close it. You can use the interior lights – or not.
If you close the door while inside the FloatPod, it is completely dark and that may initially be disorienting. When you get in and before you lie down, open and close the door, noticing how it feels different from the other surfaces. If you try to open the door and it doesn't open, it's not the door.
Is the Water Clean?
FloatPods are extremely sanitary. Three things make the float tank very hygienic. The first is the high concentration of Epsom salts that kill most viruses, bacteria, etc., from surviving. The second reason is that the water in the flotation tank is UV sanitized and passed through a filter after every float session. The water also contains 0.02 % hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is known for killing virus, bacteria and fungus. Guests are also required to shower before entering the float room.
The FloatPod is Not Airtight
You will have plenty of air. The FloatPod is designed so that it is not airtight.
1100 Pounds of Epsom Salts
The FloatPod environment is humid. There are approximately 10 inches of water in the FloatPod with 1100 lbs. of Epsom salts dissolved into it. When you lie back you will float. Your ears will be under water – your face and the top of your body will stay above the water. We recommend you use the available earplugs, especially you have ever had ear problems.
Best Body Positions
You can experiment with the best body position for you. For example, hands behind head, on your chest, along your sides. If you have tension in your neck you can try clasping your hands behind your head. There is no wrong way to do this.
Keep the Salt Out of Your Eyes!
If you get any salt water in your eyes it might briefly sting. If you happen to get salt in your eyes, have your towel where you can easily reach it, and use it to wipe your eyes. We also have fresh water in a spray bottle for you to sooth your eyes.
Nicks and Cuts
If you have cuts or scratches or have recently shaved, there may be stinging for several minutes. If you have any open cuts or scrapes use the available Vaseline to seal them before you get in the FloatPod.
Remove your metal jewelry and contact lenses. Shower, shampoo, rinse thoroughly and dry your face before you get in the FloatPod.
Then get into the FloatPod. After an hour passes a signal will let you know your time is up. Sit up, stand and dry the solution from your body before getting out of the FloatPod. Step directly toward the shower to rinse off. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash are available for your use. Please remember to hurry so the next appointment can start on time.
Enjoy your float and check with your hostess for any additional information.
